Are in theater movie ticket prices too high?

The quality of Hollywoods products have gone downhill %26amp;

especially having to put up with all the commercials between showings

Are in theater movie ticket prices too high?musicals

Absolutely

Majority of the releases are mediocre at best. Some of the blame I direct at the celebrities who believe their acting is worth 20 million for some stupid movie.

Are in theater movie ticket prices too high?opera songs opera theater

Absolutely, I usually wait and rent them. I cant rent several movies for the price of one admission.
yea i think they should give us a break especially since the gas so freaking high to get me to the crappy movie lol and they better do it soon or i'm just gonna go to the guys on the street their cheaper anyway.
not sure i have cable %26amp; dvd's, hell with gas so high the price of a ticket shpuld be lower, by the time you get there you need more gas just to get home. a ticket should be buy 1 get 1 free plus a half of a tank of gas
I don't think the ticket prices are out of line for a two-plus hour show...but the concession stand is a total rip-off.

Imagine walking into a convenience store with a Big Gulp and a Snickers bar and the clerk says, "$9 please." You'd laugh and walk out.
They are very high. And coke, candy, and soda are expensive too.
it's really expensive, lucky I have a good sound system. Sound quality isn't as good as in the movie theater, but a lot cheaper.
yes it is...$8.00 for the matinee

I think the price is normal considering facilities we get, but we don't need to watch all the time in theater
At my movie theater it's only $6.
Yes that's why we only go to the Drive-In, it's only $5 for adults and kids under 12 are free! We also know the owner and live next door so we get in for free!
I don't watch many movies, so usually I'm asking myself if it's worth two hours of my life... oh, AND eight dollars? No, thank you!
$5.00 isn't that bad for me
When I was a kid we used to go to the movies as a family about once a week. It was something fairly inexpensive that the whole family could do together, and then we would talk about the movie afterwards. It probably cost the whole family about 25 dollars admission and snacks back then.

Now one person can spend 20 dollars on admission and snacks. So, yes on one hand the movies have become too expensive.

On the other hand, movie goers today expect a lot more for their entertainment dollar. Compare the special effects in the original Superman movies to what we expected to see in X-men. Compare that we were willing to sit in movie theatres where seats were crammed together and we sort of had to peek around the head of the person in front of us to the need now for stadium seating and full THX Surround sound compared to good old fashioned stereo. So as consumers we are becoming far more demanding on what we want in a movie theatre. So we become more willing to pay for the experience.

I guess it just boils down to your personal preference. Some movies are fine on the small screen in your living room, but lets face it movies like XXX, X-MEN, or even Pirates of the Caribbean have a less impact in your living room than they do in the theatre.
Obscene.
Yeah i argee, i usually wait to buy the movie on DVD. they are expensive esp night movies
Yes a couple tickets cost more then the blasted dvd!

JESUS LOVES U!
Yes, they are too high. I would rather wait until they come out onHBO because then, I do not have to pay 10 bucks to see the movie; I got it on the t.v. right here.
Actually I don't really mind current ticket prices that much. They usually vary around $7 to $10 right. Hardly something to get so upset about. Now if you feel you've been ripped off by watching a crappy movie then that's pretty much your own fault. Study up before going to the movies. I constantly surprised by the amount of people that decide which movie they're going to see by simply choosing which movie poster looks good. If you're an uneducated consumer, you're likely to get suckered.
Yes they most definitely are. There are lots of people that would like to go to a movie, but can't because of the outrageous ticket admission. it's rediculous.
