Have you seen the movie One night with the King a Trinity Broadcasting Network movie in the theater

What did you think about the movie and the story?

I was very very disappointed with this movie. I just read the book , which was absolutely beautiful- yes there was artistic license taken but I felt the book stayed true to the Biblical sotry, only filling in hte gaps and embellishing without making a mockery of or trivializing the true meaning and power of Esthers story. The book was very moving and amazing.

The movie however did not only NOT stay true to the book but it strayed far from the Biblical story too. A lot of the meaning and power was lost in cheesiness. The acting left much to be desired.

Without the book, I felt the movie strayed to far from Biblical truth and was little more than a dramatic love story poorly acted and poorly scripted. One may not truly recognize the inferior quality and disappointment this movie is unless they actually read the book. Tommy Tenney wrote a beautifully moving peice of literature that stirred the imagination and the soul and Hollywood or whomever produced this cheese did an excellent job of fouling it up, leaving out the most important aspects and rewriting what was perfect as it was .

All I can say is - if you want the true beauty and power of the sotry of Esther- first read it in the Bible- if you enjoy fiction that convicts and ministers to the heart read the book and don't waste precious time on this movie

A very good movie with great visual and sound effects. The story was a very good and true love story. PEACE!!!
I thought that it deviated from the biblical record a bit more than i would have liked, but was still an excellent account of Esther's amazing life. The costumes and sets (but mostly the costumes) were absolutely breathtaking. I bought it as soon as it came out on DVD.
Havent seen it yet... people I know that have seen it tho, have either 'loved it' or else they were 'dissatisfied because of the speculation items added' to the story line. I will be seeing it the end of march.. not sure what to expect tho, since I have heard both good and not so good feedback from people i know
I thought the acting was excellent. They had to speculate on some parts to make it a complete story. That did not bother me. It was obvious God was at work behind the scenes in the lives of Esther, the King, and each of the other people from the Bible. It helped me to understand God works in my life even when it may not be as evident as I might expect. Also we are each here to carry out something in His plan and if we don't we are the ones who loose out. He can always find someone else.
